Nasi Kuning (yellow coconut rice)

1 cup jasmine rice
2 cm fresh turmeric
4 salam leaves
1 kaffir lime leaf
1 stalk lemongrass
3 cloves
1 piece cinnamon bark
3/4 cup coconut cream
3/4 cup water

Wash, soak and drain rice.
Pound turmeric in mortar and pestle.
Combine all ingredients in saucepan,
bring to boil and simmer gently
for 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve with side dishes such as
fried peanuts, fried ikan bilis,
fried potato shreds, kerupuk,
chicken or fish kuah,
tempeh, green beans,
shredded omelette, boiled egg,
sliced cucumber, fried noodles,
abon ikan, serendung etc…
